The Japanese concept of Wabi-Sabi invites us to reflect on the beauty of everyday objects, and the perfection in nature's tiny perfections. It can be seen at work in the natural raw silk we have used for this collection, woven in a Vietnamese village. The soft greys and celadon blue of the linen and the silk’s natural tones make for a very peaceful and contemporary table. The placemats and runners are in silk, with hand-embroidery on the Italian-linen napkins that mirrors the silk weave.

Gayle Warwick is the couturier of hand embroidered linens. The designs are all hand crafted with attention to the smallest detail from the pencil drawing that begins each design to the organic yarns chosen to weave a cotton sheet to the single stitch used to embroider a leaf.
