Robert Haviland founded his own china making business in 1924, at the tender age of 27. Successfully navigating major technological and creative transformations, Herend grew to be recognized for its standard for excellence.
In 1984, the now renamed Robert Haviland & C. Parlon porcelain company became a member of the “Comité Colbert”, a select association of the most prestigious French luxury goods producers. Making signature pieces and chinaware for fine restaurants, luxury hotels, as well political strongholds, the company grew in notoriety. Bought by the Ercuis group in 2003, it was awarded the “Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant”label in 2011.
