Diplomate

Created by the designers of Maison Haviland in the 1900s, the Diplomate Collection features exceptional craftsmanship. It features stunning floral and ornamental motifs. Inspired by french decor, the designs are also an ode to Japonism at the beginning of the century. The reliefs of the design are treated using the ancient technique of inlay. The signature brilliant gold finish results from two successive gildings followed by meticulous agate burnishing—a labor-intensive process that distinguishes Diplomate's incomparable luster. Notably, President Roosevelt commissioned this distinguished collection in 1938, cementing its place in American presidential history and design heritage.
