From the archives Gien, Designed by Jean Bertholle in 1955 at the request of the French President, René Coty, this hand-painted service was created to furnish prestigious hunting lodges thru out France.
Brand description
The Faïencerie de Gien was created in 1821 in Gien (Val de Loire), in the heart of France. Collaborating with painters and engravers, who were invited to imagine new motifs and shapes, Gien has continuously and successfully diversified from a technical and artistic point of view. A member of the prestigious Colbert Committee, the faiencerie has also been awarded the “Living Heritage” company label.
