The weaving of bamboo, banana and coconut leaves from the Caribbean to Madagascar to Indonesia is a true art of basketry. The creative Daum atelier explores this art form by adapting it to the modelling technique. The strips of earth were braided then reshaped into vases and bowls. Leaves of different varieties intersect, merge and remain rigid, still from their freshness, are transformed into baskets, with cut flowers or harvested fruits. The vanilla flowers recall the exoticism of the islands where weaving is still widely practiced. These delicate flowers decorate and perfect these works of patience and beauty.
